Investments in renewable energy worldwide rose by twelve percent

According to the analyst of the American news portal »Bloomberg New Energy Finance" (BNEF) global investments in renewable energy have increased by around twelve percent in the third quarter of 2014 compared to the same period last year : 48.9 billion dollars (38.7 billion euros) to 55 billion dollars (43.5 billion euros).  
The strongest growth was recorded by Asia, led by China with a volume of 20 billion dollars (15.8 billion euros), for which purpose the relevant Chinese solar market with $ 12.2 billion (9.6 billion euros) contributed over 7.5 billion dollars (5.9 billion euros) in the third quarter of 2013, the second largest solar market is Japan with 8.6 billion dollars (6.8 billion euros), an increase of 17 percent. In contrast, fell, European investment in renewable energy to 8.8 billion dollars (6.9 billion euros). According BNEF this was the lowest level in the last eight years, caused in particular by a decline in the UK, Italy and Germany. In the USA, one can, however, despite the volatile wind energy industry is a significant investment growth of $ 5.7 billion in the third quarter of 2013 recorded (4.5 billion euros) to now $ 7.3 billion (5.7 billion euros), caused in particular through the construction of photovoltaic systems on residential buildings as well as solar power plants. Total investments in the first three quarters of 2014 were higher at most $ 175 billion (138.3 billion euros), an increase of 16 percent over 2013.
